Jeffrey cleared his throat and pushed off the coach, “I better go finish with the salad. Perhaps the steaks are ready to be turned,” he mumbled as he made his way back to the kitchen. What could I have possibly been thinking? I was about to kiss her for goodness sake. I can’t do that.
But why not? He asked himself as Stephanie took herself out to the patio to check on the meat. Because I said that I would give her time, and that’s exactly what I intend to do.
What did I do wrong? Stephanie thought to herself as she placed the baby in the carrier on the floor not bothering to strap her in since it was on the floor, and headed to the patio to turn the meat…

Book 2 of the Chimera Trilogy He wasn't really looking for it but when love shows up he has to decide whether he'll accept it or not. New connections, old ties, and surprising revelations are ingredients for lasting love or for instructions to a charred heart. Ecerpt: Mike was tall like Alex, slim like him, had the same blue eyes and black hair. I could only conclude that my brain was looking elsewhere for an Alex substitute. That was not flattering to myself or fair to him. It was easier I guess to pick a fight then actually let myself like him. His eyes flipped to mine again. That eyebrow went up and he smirked. Now he was laughing at me. I straightened and turned to lean against the pole with my back to him. Maybe it was time to find a nice girl to date. The trouble was I hadn't been interested in anyone enough to want to go on a date, and I wasn't the kind to do one night stands. My eyes flipped to Alex. He was smiling and laughing at something Tyler was saying. I was happy for him but if I really let it be felt, I was jealous, a little that Tyler got him and I didn't, but I think it was more that they were together and happy and I had no one. I'd finally hit that age I wanted family and children. "Here." A plate appeared in front of me. I looked around and saw Mike holding it out. "What's this?" "That's commonly known as food. You eat it. I've noticed you favor the mushroom soup, stuffing with gravy and corn on the cob. Here you go." I took the plate. Why on earth had he not only noticed what I ate but brought me a plate of it.

"All's fair in love and war, or some shit, right?" He said, his smirk drawing to a slight sneer as he padded towards the open balcony. He rested his hands on the guardrail before letting out an exasperated sigh, thunder rolling behind it. The rain cascaded onto the tile in sheets, blowing the soft cream curtains back and forth. "Or some shit." I smiled, walking towards him. I could see the tension grow in his back and shoulders, his struggle evident. I placed my hand gently on his shoulder, trying my best to reassure him. I could feel his breathing hitch slightly at my touch; his response was all I needed to reassure me I was doing the right thing. My touch was welcomed. I leaned my head on his back, wrapping my hands around his waist. I longed to take away his pain; I hated seeing anyone this upset. She wasn't worth his time. He said so himself- he's never found a woman worth changing plans for. Maybe he meant since her, I can't be sure. I am, however, hoping to show him that, one day, that woman might be me. ****** Jeanie is a spunky assistant living in Atlanta. With the start of a new job, she moved thousands of miles from her home- from her past. Kendall has always lived a quiet life in a small town in Illinois with her family, friends, and boyfriend Jordan. Her life had been mostly happy other than when her best friend moved away when she was 10. It took her years to get over that loss. Then several years later, tragedy struck when her father passed away suddenly and Kendall was forced to move with her mom closer to Chicago where she could find a job to support the two of them. Little does Kendall know that she is in for the surprise of a lifetime. From the book.... As he catches up to me, he grabs my arm swings me around and with one swift movement he ushers me into a nearby empty classroom with the lights off. He cages me in against the wall. His close proximity is making me dizzy and my mind is thinking very dirty thoughts. Wait no. I can't think like that anymore. "Kendall." He says hungrily. "You are mine and only mine. You drive me wild and no one else can have you." He says as he attacks my lips. It feels so amazing I can't help but kiss him back. I run my hands through his beautiful hair and he groans into the kiss. Man I don't want this to ever end. I feel drunk on him. I don't think I can let him go. He stops suddenly to finish his thoughts. "No one can make you feel like this. Or kiss you here...." He says as he kisses down my neck. I moan and he smirks pulling his face impossibly close to mine. "..or touch you." He says as he takes his hand and brushes it lightly down my arm and he snakes it back around my back pulling me even closer if that is possible. He finally stops at my ass which he squeezes delightfully and I hum in response. Warning: Contains graphic sexual content. Read at your own discretion. You will not be warned ahead of time. MATURE CONTENT, +18 ONLY When Andy starts a complex and steamy love affair with her new boss, she discovers there's more to his arrogant facade than she originally thought. ⸻ Andrea "Andy" Walker has landed her dream job at Kelex, a company she's admired for years. Her new colleagues have welcomed her with open arms, including the charming and sweet Oliver. But her infuriatingly attractive boss isn't so welcoming. Alexander "Lex" Coleman seems determined to drive her crazy. Despite her best efforts to resist him, Andy finds herself increasingly drawn to Lex's good looks and razor-sharp mind. As the tension between them heats up and their working relationship becomes more complicated, the line between personal and professional blurs. Can she have it all, or will she have to choose between her career and the man she can't resist? ⸻ "I'm telling you," I insist while he gets something from his nightstand. "I'm good. We effectively fucked you out of my system." "Great." He's back with a condom, and he's getting hard again. I'm not well-versed in men's anatomy, but it isn't something that should be already happening, right? I'm still not over it when he puts on the protection, throwing the empty package on the floor. Stunned, I don't protest or resist when he flips me around like a ragdoll, and it's only when I'm on all fours before him, my knees on the edge of the bed, that I understand what he wants. "Wait, I need a brea--" My complaints die in my throat as he pushes himself inside me with a slow but implacable thrust. Then comes the wet touch of his tongue, drawing a burning line in the hollow crest of my spine between my shoulder blades. He nuzzles his way up until his mouth is an inch from my ear. "Now, we're fucking you out of my system," he threateningly mutters. Oh, God... ⸻ This is a rewritten version with a better pace and fewer mistakes. You can find the full-length story on my profile.
