He cleared his throat, a triumphant smirk on his face, since he finally got his way. Damn him to hell.

"I wanted to thank you for sticking up for me the other night. Abigail is very hard to get rid of. She just can't get enough of me."

"I don't care about any of this." I gave him a deadpan look.

"You sure?" He raised an eyebrow, reading me like an open book. "Is that not rage I see in your eyes whenever I mention her?"
