Macy a 16 year old orphan is traveling the country after her parents were brutally murdered. Little did she know that the reason they died was because of her. Her life feels hopeless until she meets Nate an 18 year old who is secretly protecting her from the pack that wants her. Under protection Macy and Nate run and fight with every bit of life they have in them across the country. Will this be the end for them or just the beginning of a long life of running and being scared. With blood on their hands and aches and pains from running they want to give up, but they want to live more.

In helping Nate pursue his kidnapped daughter, Charlotte inadvertently allows herself to feel again, to care for those other than herself. But with the clock ticking, Charlotte's new found family may just end up like her own, dead and destroyed, if Emmi is exposed to the disease that her father tried so hard to protect her from.
