12 year old Kansas' parents  are parting. Kansas has to deal with the ups and downs when her father gets married to another woman. Cecile (the fathers wife) holds a huge hatred for Kansas because looking at her reminds her of another relationship. But when a terrorist group called the "iowra" attacks the city, Cecile needs to change her bond with Kansas, which means anything can happen.
