"Life is pain, living is lonely and then you die."

Tara Kingsley doesn't have much. Her crappy apartment, a few cockroaches, mostly used clothes and a corresponding bank account.

Ruth Wandenberg has everything that keeps Tara's head above the water: A job as an escort for businessmen, a strong will and a magnetic personality.

The bad news: Ruth is a mirage, nothing more than a fleeting illusion. A false identity that cannot be kept up longer than a few hours. Tara's desperate attempt of staying alive.

Quentin knows that life isn't easy. Especially when you're forced to earn extra cash on the side just to keep afloat. But other than Tara he knows that when you're no business tycoon or one of those having especially much money, you have to start somewhere and imagine that things will be okay someday. You have to believe. It's the art of keeping going.

What will happen if those so similar and yet so different characters meet? Will Tara be able to put down the burden of her past and start a life that she's already given up long ago?
