The first three chapters of The Prodigal Son which can be found on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The story follows the parable from the Bible and illustrates its meaning. Barhat is a prodigal who is more concerned about the next adventure he has coming his way than he is about his family. When he is given the chance to leave his father's house with a wagon full of riches he takes it without regard for what he is leaving behind; the comfort and safety of home, and the beautiful Afra, whose face and words follow in the form of a memory. His destination is the famous city of Nikat-taw, a city of both wealth and poverty . Barhat quickly finds himself in depravity that leads to ruin and is constantly threatened with failure, while being encouraged by the last words uttered to him by the memorable Afra.
