"Alexandra, promise me you'll stay hidden. They don't know about you yet." Daniel said. I looked at Daniel, tears freely falling down my face.

"You can't leave me Danny. You said that you'd protect me!" I screamed. I couldn't do this. I couldn't let him go.

"I will always protect you, Alex" he said, a tear escaping from his eye. He pulled out a chain from his pocket and gave it to me. "I want you to hold onto this. This used to belong to Mom and she told me to give it to you as your 18th birthday present, which is when she got it, but since I won't be here when you turn 18, I'm giving this to you now. It's the only thing left of Mom"

It was a gold chain with a beautiful small diamond pendant hanging from it. A sob escaped my lips while Daniel clasped the necklace around my neck, kissing my forehead.

"I have to go now. Emma and George will take good care of you, I promise." He kissed my forehead one more time muttering an 'I love you' before walking off. I ran after him, but he had disappeared into the night, no longer in sight.

My tears blended in with the rain falling heavily from the sky, drowning out the sound of my screams.
