For years, scientists have carted certain children away, taking them from their homes and families before they're even old enough to know themselves. These children are special, and perhaps the only way to save the rest of human kind. The kids believe the labs are their home, not knowing that an actual world, however bad it may be, is located outside the four walls of the lab.

But when things in the outside lands take a turn for the worst, the doctors and scientists become frantic. There's not much time before the newest outbreak of tomorsis- a fatal disease- consumes them all. If only there was one child who had enough power to stop it.

Then comes Keaton Sailor.

Lola Shane, 15 and in her last year of middle school. Her biggest worry was picking out the car she wanted for her 16th birthday. From having sleepovers with her besties almost every Friday, and complaining about long school hours, to living on the cold streets of New York, barely human. It wasn't always this way. On her way back from school one rainy day, she stumbled upon a puddle; a puddle that shone bright light. Going home frightened about what she had seen, she pushes it aside and blames her tiredness from the school day. It wasn't until she saw her images in picture frames, disappearing, that the earlier panic resurfaced. Coupled with her parents somehow not seeing and talking to her, she was sure something was wrong. She tries holding onto them but her hands go right through their shoulders. While in denial, she is sure that she was dreaming but soon realizes it was her reality. Lola is in despair and feels like all hope is lost until she revisits the puddle. There she sees a riddle being written in the water and memorizes it. Three years later, she'd been managing to get by being unnoticed by the world and being ghost-like. So it's no surprise when she freezes in panic as black-haired, blue-eyed Tyler leans down to her crouched position and speaks to her. Will this boy be the clue to understanding the phenomenon that changed her life? And will the two of them be able to crack the riddle and get back Lola's old life? Will Lola meet the person that destroyed her once peaceful life? Word Count📝: 132,431.

My Deceiving Eyes

28 parts Ongoing Mature

In 2239, added as an ingredient for rat poison, a disease began to spread rapidly through the air. Decaying the bones it attaches to, inflicting paralysis and organ failure while its victims remain conscious enough to feel the pain that follow. Two years later, a vengeful ex-scientist released another sickness. Those who were infected suffered severe symptoms that would alter them into aggressive and animalistic creatures. These two illnesses quickly combined, causing a huge outbreak across the world and Wiping out almost 64% of the human's population. They called this contagious and infectious disease, "the Bliss." Eleven years later, after hundreds of failed trials, the Serpent department has created a solution: children who are immune to the disease. Raised within the boundless white laboratory walls, Adrian Bordeleau is cruelly exploited to develop a cure. As he grow up, a voice began to eat away at his soul. Gradually making him question what is keeping him from breaking out of the facility and destroy everything and everyone who dared to deceive him. Once you get a taste of power, you can't go back - My Deceiving Eyes is heavily inspired by the song Brutus by Buttress. As well as the Flare from Maze Runner, Deep Root disease from Gemini Home Entertainment, and the Grimace shake incident. [SECOND DRAFT]
