I could hear my heart pounding in my ears as I gripped Claire's small, fragile arm looking for an exit out of the long eerie hallways. I could still hear the loud moans and snarls echo off the walls as they chased behind us. I felt my body shaking, and my breath was short from all the running, but I knew I couldn't stop until we were out. I heard the gunshots in the distance while planning my next turn.

"Liam, we have to get out of here!" Claire screamed and started to sob. I couldn't answer her, though, I had to focus on my breathing; make sure none of them were following too close behind us, to protect Claire, and to find the others.

We were approaching the end of the hall and I had to quickly arbitrate whether to go left or right. Without anymore thinking I took a sharp turn to the left to see a cutlass. I've seen her before. I stopped dead in my tracks and pulled Claire behind me. Her eyes seemed empathetic, but she was still a cutlass, she was evil, she was heartless. We needed to run.
