Jade came to an abrupt halt as he burst into a clearing illuminated by the full moon hanging between the tallest branches, giving it an eerie look. His keen eyes pierced the darkness, searching desperately for the mysterious entity that had haunted his nights for years. His heart, beating several times faster than usual, alarmingly caught in his throat as he caught sight of a fleeting white blur accompanied by the sound of hooves. He didn't think as he broke into a run, neither did he feel the twigs snapping under his feet, nor the scratches that the lowest branches of the nearest trees left on his otherwise handsome face; all he heard was the blood pounding near his temples and the reckless voice in his Head that urged him on. He was losing sight of the white flash but knew it was still there, but the sound of the hooves were growing fainter.
Another voice came into focus pulling him out of his destination. He wanted to cling on, he wanted to find out what is it that he was running after? What is it that had been evading him for such a long time? But no matter how hard he tried, it slipped him again like sand slips from a tightening fist.
