Sam was just your average 14 year old girl, apart from the tough up-bringing that is. When Sam was three years old, her father died, leaving her mother to cope with Sam by herself. Since then life was hard for Sam, and her mother, Sam's mum, Carol, became an alcoholic when Sam was just 5, probably because of the pressure of looking after a toddler by yourself, I guess she just wasn't strong enough. Carol refused to get help and carried on drinking until Sam was 14, but then she met Pete. Pete, the loving and caring guy, always making people laugh and smile, and so for once Sam felt like she belonged, she felt like she was part of a proper family for the first time in her life, everything was perfect.
But Sam was about to learn, that nothing good lasts forever
