Heartwood, Noun: The dense inner part of a tree trunk, yielding the hardest timber. After your mother got a divorce, the both of you moved to a large one story house. It was in the middle of nowhere, and your entire backyard was just one giant forest. While your mother was weaving her Easter basket, you decided to follow a path of flowers into the woods.
