As the author, I would suggest the following. 1. Read "Philosopher's Stone" (this book) till before the chapter titled "THE JOURNEY FROM PLATFORM NINE AND THREE QUARTERS" 2. Skip the rest. It is merely a telling of what you have already read in canon, just from a different perspective. 3. Move to "The Chamber of Secrets" and start with the chapter titled "TOM MARVOLO RIDDLE."
