Georgia Hudson and John Luke Madden have known each other their whole lives. As they grew up together, they were forced to find a common ground in order to get along with each other. One night, as teenagers, something changed between them. Their friendship grew into love but they are forced to keep it a secret since John Luke's best friends are the son and daughter of the most hated family in town. Being a bad influence for John Luke, he is caught with drugs in his room and is forced by his father to join the marine's as a last resort. The notes never make it to Georgia's hands because her father hides them attempting to keep her from being influenced by John Luke.
