Thunderstorms. Bright, loud, intense. In some ways, they're just like life. At least, that's what Laci Emerson thinks. Starting small, a little drizzle of rain. People close their windows, keeping the nature out, keeping the cold and wet out. Staying warm. Growing larger, a complete downpour. People bring their children inside so they don't catch colds, bringing in fragile flowers so they don't get destroyed. Gigantic, thunder! Lightning! People stare out the windows or at the television sets, terrified of nature's awe-inspiring phenomenon. Laci sits in a small wooden shelter in the forest with her iPod, embracing the wind and the light and the loud. Thinking of things in a completely different mindset, a whole world apart from everyone else. Then she meets Gray and the gang. So different yet so alike, they begin to make their way through the summer- fighting through dark times and laughing through light times. Maybe things are looking up for once in Laci's life.
