Jessica is secretly a lesbian. The only one who knows about it is her best friend, Haley.
Jessica lives in a very homophobic neighbourhood. She goes to a catholic high school, and everyone talks about how being attracted to the same sex is a sin.
Jessica's parents are always trying to set her up with a nice church boy. Can't they see she doesn't want a boy? Can't they see she likes women?
Jessica always goes to a record store, to hang out there. She has a crush on the girl who works there. She's is so beautiful and so sweet. This girls name was Meredith. But Jess calls her mere for short.
Her beautiful long hair, and her beautiful brown eyes. Jess hasn't felt this attracted to anyone before. She gets so caught up her her eyes, and freezes around her.
But she just hides her feelings, or her father will beat her, and throw her out on the street.
