A world where there are three social groups
White, grey, and black.
If you are white, your belongings are white, you wear white, and are treated with respect.
Grey's wear all grey, have grey belongings, are slightly mistreated, and have something wrong with them or have done something wrong.
Blacks. They are the dangerous ones. They wear the jacket if the black parade, have black belongings, and are often killed.

In a world where being lgbtq+, commuting an act of violence, having a mental or physical disorder, addiction, or long-term injury can have you killed by the council.
Frank and Gerard both have addictions and are gay and pansexual, of course, without the council knowing.
Mikey is secretly bipolar and is a patient of cancer.
Ray suffers of schizophrenia and Bob- well... he's just a drug dealer. I mean, he's Bob I don't really know what you were expecting.

Gerard doesn't quite understand why his hair turned completely white when he was only nine years old. There's a list of things he doesn't understand, such as why he can't leave the house after 6pm or why his mother was frantic to cover his hair when they went on family outings. He even wondered why he was pulled out of school after being neglected by all of his teachers. He just wasn't aware that he was a menace, a creative mind with too much power that was being brought into a ring of public shame. He was a Diff. Frank Iero, on the other hand, was a Same.
