Seemingly, little miss Elizaveta Héderváry has a perfect life. A huge number of friends, respect from most teachers, a loyal best friend, and boyfriend Roderich who she loves with all of her heart. But when he decides their relationship isn't working, what will become of the Hungarian princess of the school?

Meanwhile, Gilbert Beilschmidt isn't exactly popular. Most of the teachers despise him, and his friends aren't really...well, friends. And, not to mention that most of the girls think he's an annoying waste of space. This wouldn't be so bad if Elizaveta didn't think so too, as he new deep down, he would kill to be in Roderich's place. But, when word gets around that the golden couple have broken up, Gilbert sees a new opportunity when Elizaveta doesn't have a partner for the science project...
