Rule no. 1 of being a "twenty something trying to make something of himself when there's nothing really to work with" should be not to buy albino snakes that smell of lavender from creepy pet shop owners who get snakes from tarot card-wielding old women. Or something like that, because then none of what occurs in this story would have happened and Liam would have stayed at least 95% sane.
