In 2024, the United States of America took a crushing loss in the Olympics. They never placed once. Fearing the effect this will have on America's reputation, the government decides to experiment a bit and train college students solely for the 2028 Summer Olympic Games. Thus, Kingston University for the Gifted was opened on an island off the coast of Southern California. Here money doesn't matter. There's no tuition- just a signed contract demanding appearance in the Games. Kyle grew up mucking out stalls in exchange for riding lessons. His family never had much money, so fancy riding instruction never was an option. When a scout appears at a show offering him a way into the big leagues, he doesn't refuse. But will he regret his decision in a world filled with backbreaking work, huge expectations to live up to, and quite a few 1,500 lb animals with minds of their own?

Elena couldn't be more excited about the new community development program for noble, academic reasons... but let's be honest - she's mostly excited because it involves working with athletes. Athletes = muscles. Muscles = potential boyfriends. And potential boyfriends = the long-overdue end of her tragic "Single Since 2019" era. Plus, if the universe finally stops laughing at her romantic misfortunes, she might even get to tag along with her college's athletic team on their trip to New Jersey - land of bagels, boardwalks, and possibly cute foreign exchange players. So yes, Elena is ready. Ready for love. Ready for adventure. Ready for... absolutely anything except what she actually gets: A collision course with a quiet, hoodie-wearing disaster named Ryan Kingston. Ryan Kingston - the campus myth, the billionaire's heir, the human equivalent of a locked door. He's got the looks of a brooding romance novel hero... and the social skills of a brick wall. Rumor says he has a female allergy. Not figurative. Literal. If a girl stands too close, he tenses like someone is pointing a crossbow at him. Elena finds this absolutely ridiculous. Until she meets him. And he actually backs away like she's holding a weaponized scented candle. But Ryan has his reasons - A spotlight he never asked for. A family empire that screams drama with a side of taxes. And the talent of disappearing into hoodies like he's auditioning to become a shadow. Now their worlds are about to collide - hers full of caffeine-fueled optimism, accidental disasters, and questionable flirting choices; his full of rules, emotional escape routes, and enough distance to qualify as a Wi-Fi problem.
