The Story of Cora

I usually hate high school. I hate being a teenager. I hate the way we act, as if we're love dependants and we can't breathe without romance. I don't want to depend on anyone, but to support and to be supported.
It's late-night and I am alone in L.A. Walking downtown, passing thugs and high lifers. They are getting drunk and everything is easy for them. They can just forget it. Forget everything they've been trough and relax while I- I can get high with the risk of falling asleep and never waking up again. I can't get artificial happiness.
I live on the road. I messed up my life, I messed up theirs. I messed with powerful people, I messed with aching souls. I showed off my biggest weaknesses: whoever was there to see them, I hope they won't see me again. I fucking need to get a job. What those girls do- it ain't for me.
I used to save lives. I used to help. Now I'm the damsel in distress. Now I need to be saved. I often thought of running away and starting again.
