Color. It's something our brain makes up. It doesn't really exist. So how come everyone made a big fuss about meeting and touching their soulmate so they could see in color? After all, what's so bad about black and white? Aren't they colors too? That's what Nico thought anyway. When he was younger he had tried to imagine a new color but had never been able to. His sister had died seeing the world in black in white. Nico didn't see the point of color. That is, until he touches his soulmate and sees what he's been missing out on... Edited January 2024.

The first time I saw the color, I thought it was a sign that things were going to work out. How could I not see those vibrant purples and cobalt blues framed in a swirling aura of chimerical colors lighting up the rumbling midnight storm clouds as a bad thing? How was I to know then that this color composed of many, but still one, was an omen while the world around us burned? That it wasn't to be our rainbow from God signaling our salvation from the madness that consumed those outside our borders? In a world in which a person's level of happiness is measured by the amount of color they see, Jeon Jeongguk can say he stands somewhere in the middle - not too happy but not sad either. Taehyung is the most amazing person Jeongguk's ever met, filled with happiness and joy, so much that Jeongguk's own world starts brightening up next to him, the colors he sees no longer seeming dull. So, to say that Jeongguk is shocked when he finds out the truth about Taehyung's life is an understatement. Taehyung, his Taehyung, the brightest person on that planet, has never seen the color of the sky or those of the flowers he adored so much. Because Taehyung's only seen greyscale hues all his life.
