A collection of poems that I've written Over the last twenty years. A mother's love A smile on your face As you walked through the door, I knew right away You got what you wished for. Spreading the news Of the bundle of joy, In a few short months A bouncing baby boy. Then so unexpectedly A mother's worst nightmare, The doctor has news He must immediately share. This can't be happening Please say it isn't real, The tests are back And your child is ill. It's your decision Told you have choices, Some say don't have it So cruel are their voice's. But you hold it together Managing to stay strong, Even though not knowing Am I doing right or wrong. Never once giving up A brave and caring mother, Giving him a chance And your daughter a baby brother. A mother of two you will be At times so hard to do, Yet so very worth it And soon all will envy you...
