"Legends never die"

I wish it would. I wish we stopped holding on to the past as the only hope. Hope comes from the future not the past.

Had the past been something worth hoping for we would not be where we are today. We would not be fighting to survive. Fighting each other. Fighting the world. Fighting to release the grip of the past and run into the arms of the future.

The world from The Legend is over. What we have now, the survivors, are here in spite of The Legend not because of it. That is what many fail to see. Not me, I want to be better than The Legend. I want more. I want to move forward. I want to lead a better world. A world that could never fail as spectacularly as The Legend.

The Legend goes the world was a utopia before the Human War. I know it is an exaggeration but I imagine anything is a utopia compared to the story state of the aftermath.

This is the journey to something better. Learn from The Legend but never rely on it, never dream of it. They failed us, they deserve no such reverence.
