After Tassel recovers from her brush with death, she's faced with a whole new set of challenges, including deciphering a prophecy and regaining the trust of a man who no longer seems to care for her. She finds herself facing an entirely new level of warfare, one that is stuck inside her own mind where she can't seem to escape.

To make matters worse, Asgard is shaken by the arrival of Freya, the mysterious and seductive woman who brings with her a mission and an interest in Asgard's youngest prince. Freya convinces Asgard's finest to help her find the key to preventing the remnants of Kurse's followers from rising up.

Tassel is whisked up into a quest meant to save the Nine Realms from destruction, and in the process, she must face the demons in her past that she couldn't quite put to rest.

In the sequel to Walking With Shadows, when not everyone is who they seem to be, Tassel must decide who she can trust in a race against time to save all that she holds dear.
