"Play along, okay?" His feverish breath played on my lips. I took in his presence as desire seemed to set fire to my body. There was only so much I could do to prevent my breath from hitching. "And what if I say no?" He leaned closer to me, erasing the little distance I'd managed to put between us. With our noses touching, the lines were blurred and the boundaries insignificant. "Then I'll deal with the consequences." He breathed out before pressing his lips to mine. As his mouth moved against mine, I could feel a trace of a smile playing on his lips, or maybe that was just wishful thinking. Never before had I been surer of the fact that I had truly fallen for the intoxicating Tanner Christiansen. //a take on a cliche story that will hopefully play out in a non-cliche way

Taylor, a beautiful and young college student, ready to take on the world with her quick wit and incredible talent for reporting and journalism, soon finds herself in a sticky situation. Did she dig too deep into the wrong persons story? Tanner, a handsome and mature yet shy student studying law. He wants to go into the police force as a detective, possibly a private detective. He's only taking a few law classes for fun before he goes to the police academy. What will happen when they try to solve a mystery together? Will they help or hurt each other? Or along the way, will they somehow fall in love without trying to? ~ I say, "I'm sorry..." as my breathing is uneasy. "Don't be," he bends down to help pick up the mixture of books and papers and coffee I just spilt everywhere. "Are you okay? You seem disturbed." He lays his hand on mine and 8 can't help but look up, "Umm, to be honest, no, but that's not any of your business. Sorry again." I break the eye contact. "It can be if someone is trying to hurt you." He stops me again. "H- How did you..." I stop and am now looking him dead in the eye. "This is gonna sound creepy, but I've been watching you." He looks panicked, "Not in a creepy way though!" "What?" I keep eye contact. "I've just been observing you. That sounds awful." He looks and sounds even more panicked than before, "I mean, I think you're beautiful and I just didn't know how to approach you. I tend to be socially awkward with girls I have an interest in and I didn't want to scare you off..." He trails off, "But when I see you around, my gaze gravitates towards you," he sighs, "I sound like a total creep. I'm sorry." He pauses, "I've noticed you've been looking over your shoulder a lot and are in a rush in the halls. Almost like you're running away from something..." His eyes meet mine and I can tell he's being genuine, "I can help you." he says sympathetically. I nod and whisper, "He's always knows where I am and always knows my next move."
