Scarlette Anderson, has the perfect life. She's married to a hunk, and has her twin sister, Charlotte, as a best friend.
After years of surfing, and seeing accident upon accident, she decides to puts the 'former' in front of 'surfer'. But, one day she decides to face her fear. She puts her surfboard in the truck, and heads to the beach with, Charlotte and Charlotte's boyfriend, Tristan.
"Today was different. I could feel something different about it. I turned my board around, and waited, trying to mentally prepare myself that I was going to be riding a wave after years. "I'm facing my fears!" was what I kept reciting in my head.
The wave was getting closer.
"One... Two... ," I imagined Grant counting, in an attempt to calm my nerves. But, I couldn't calm my heart from pounding against my chest. "I can't do this," I thought. "I can't-"Three..." My heart began to slow down. The wave was getting closer.
"Four..." In an instant, I was on my knees, and the next, I was on my feet. A feeling of deja vu filled my mind, as tiny salt water droplets splashed on my face. I was immediately overcome with the feeling of happiness, and began laughing. I was surfing.
"I did it! I actually did it! I'm surfing, Char look-" My sentence was cut short, when I looked over to show them. I saw them both look at each other, frantically talking. When they turned back to face me, I could see it. It was written all over their faces. Worry.
I was about to ask what was wrong when Charlotte screamed at me, with a panic in her voice, "SCAR! LOOK OUT!"
It was as if everything moved in slow motion. I turned my head to look behind me, but it was too late. I was thrown off from my board in an instance, and propelled into the water."
When Grant is told that Scarlette is in a comatose, he never leaves her side. He holds her hand, and tells her stories in an attempt to wake her up.
Will Grant's love be enough to wake up Scar?
