Coggler's Brood continues the adventures of Nina Swift, begun in the first book of the series, Gaia's Brood. With a mystery package to deliver, an atrocity to thwart, and a love interest in tow, Nina Swift returns. But how far will Nina go to stop her mother's evil plans? More airships, more swashbuckling adventure, more dastardly villains, more Steampunk fun. It's the return of the fabulous Nina Swift. Dear Reader, This is a work in progress, so new chapters are added as I complete edit them. Suggestions/comments/requests for story direction are always welcome. Nick Travers.

After a night of terrible sacrifice and loss, Ava and Lucas have crossed a sacred boundary. Their forbidden bond has awakened the wrath of the Makhai, a fanatical gang of killers who will stop at nothing to wipe out the last of the Gaia. As Ava and Lucas flee across the globe, they are tested by violence, betrayal, and a mysterious curse of fire. Just as Ava needs her powers most, she is losing control-struggling to accept her new identity as the Alpha Gaia. Within her lies the power of the howling wind, the raging water, the boiling lava, and the quaking earth. It's a power that frightens her-and it's growing. With Mother Earth herself stoking the flames of Ava's fury at the destruction of her world and the killing of her people, will Ava be able to channel her power for good, or will she be consumed by the fire of her rage? Ava of the Gaia Book 2 --- I study how members of the fossil fuel industry and their allies undermine climate narratives in an effort to block government action at every level and confuse and disempower the public. With this knowledge, I have honed my practice as a climate storyteller, creating stories that push back against decades of industry narratives by centering justice, hope, community, agency, and collective action.
