Seth Calloway has finally branched out from his roots in Oceanview, Virginia, and is now a soon-to-be graduating psychology major with high hopes and dreams. Until this point in his education, his biggest worries have been keeping good grades, meeting with his student band, and trying to hold on to a girlfriend for more than a few weeks. However, his whole life is turned backwards when his eccentric, strange, psychology professor hands him a project that only her most trusted students can handle. It's here that Seth meets the most confusing person he's ever heard in his life - a mysterious "Molly" - that he can never meet.
Molly Hawthorne doesn't care about much; after her "incident", nothing really has value anymore. When she donates her case for student evaluation, she doesn't think much about it. Life is a game spent well-played, and she doesn't have the time, or the energy, for therapists. When she records her sessions with her new psychologist, she begins to wonder where her thoughts are going - who on her campus could be behind that tape, listening to her words?
What first started with a project soon turns into a wild goose chase. Will they settle for the simple recordings, or continue to attempt to understand each other, as well as their identities?
Note: This is the sequel to What Love Is. You do not necessarily have to read this book first, but it may help with some insight into Seth.
Growing up in Wisconsin, Kasha was a lively girl, with her best friend, Jason, never too far away. That is, until they turn fourteen. Through ten years of friendship, they had decided they liked each other and were dating. However, that year, Kasha relocated to Seattle, breaking two hearts in the process.
Three years down the road, Kasha has fully moved on. She's got a new boyfriend, Nate, she's on the track team and finally a senior. Life can't get any better, though it can get worse when she finds out Jason moved to Seattle and goes to her school. He's dead set on getting his childhood sweetheart back in his arms, while Nate's determined to keep things the way that are, which means keeping Kasha exactly where she is. Kasha is just confused. She knows she's in love with Nate. But she can't help but feel an attraction towards Jason. After all, they did used to date. Maybe it's a thing about exes. Or maybe it's because Jason looks really different from that small town boy.
You can only be truly in love with one guy. So who is it?
