This is a story I wrote back when I first really started getting into horror in my early 20's. I'm posting it because I have always wanted to expand this short story into a series of anthologies about the month of October when the world is stuck inside, cowering from monsters that lurk outside.
I originally wrote this based on a dream I had as a child where I had to be home before it got dark and the monsters started coming out. In the dream I was not able to make it home in time and I was just reaching the front door as I saw my mother closing it saying 'I'm sorry but I can't let them get inside'....terrifying.
