A cat named Roaring Tiger is given a message. Things known as a clan will start up, and he must be the one to make it happen. Gathering certain cats, he raises them to understand about clan life.
The story starts off with a young she-cat named Sage. She was chosen to be one of the four leaders. Along with Stone, Echo, and Moon; Sage will join the others to create her new home.

She loves her clanmates dearly, but the clan deputy seems to watch their every move, just waiting for any cat to slip up. But it's the clan she was raised in. So, she should be loyal to them, right? Keenkit always figured he and his littermates were normal kits who would all become apprentices and be able to train together. But when a strange cat takes his sister out of StreamClan on the day of their apprentice ceremony, he quickly realizes such hope has become impossible. Sunpaw just wants to prove to his clan, BreezeClan that he can become a great warrior. But it isn't as easy as it sounds. Even though his rival apprentice Slowpaw is much younger than him, he is always beaten in battle training and he can never catch nearly as much prey. His mentor doesn't make it any better either.
