Utah has always been a fan of mythology and its profound creatures. He watched the movies; he read the comics; he went to the local cons. He was the type of high-schooler to be found sitting in the back corner of the classroom doodling monsters on his homework assignment.

What he didn't know? That these fantastical creatures would soon become a reality.

When an ancient force is reawakened within the streets of present-day London, a town of magical history and divinely dark secrets, people begin to disappear. Reports of gruesome murders and terrifying monsters are being phoned in across the country by the hundreds. And after a slight altercation with a wart-faced troll wielding an electric staff, Utah has become one of those monsters, too.

Much too scared and all too hairy, he seeks out answers in long forgotten library textbooks and weird websites; but instead of discovering the reason why he morphs into a wolf at the break of every sunset, he discovers people just like him, a group of mythical misfits cast away from normality.

So what will Utah and his newly-acquired friends-- though a certain pink haired pixie has become much more than that-- do as they struggle to find their place among their magical, war-torn society? Become a group of superhero's and kick some mythological ass.

Little town, little events. Sage Marie Andrews has always been the dirty blonde, easy going tom boy of the small town Vernon Oaks that has everyone knowing everyone, gossip to beat the mailing system and a slightly stereotypical set of girls and guys to give anyone not used to it, a headache. Especially in the new level of parties and teenage nights Sage has recently taken habit in. At the young age of 15, she was friends with everyone, not super popular, but definitely in the spot light. She's the kind of girl who would volunteer to clean bed pans for old folks, and cringe at the idea of shopping unless it's for her collection of sport goods. Sure she made enemies, but she had allies too. One in particular. Chandler Riggs, a younger 12 year old who needed a friend, and she was there. After a brief but impressionable summer of growing close and being inseparable buddies, he moves away to Las Vegas for 3 years never contacting her again, just for her life of her first boyfriend, school studies, household drama and basically her attempt to change into a more feminine girl fall apart when she gets news her sweet kiddo pal is coming back, only to find, the city changes things, in more ways than one, and the kind, innocent, polite boy she once knew, is characteristically unrecognizable in the weirdest of ways. Drama, hate, triangles, mixed feelings, past secrets, present conflicts, these are all expected when the boy too wild for her small town changes her life at every turn; but what happens, when the most unexpected of feelings occur, prompting issues and shaky hope, when he seems incapable of truly loving anything? Or anyone. Not even himself, and she starts to wonder just what changed him in the 3 years he's been away to make him take on a whole new role in her life as well as challenge other aspects of it, along with her own troubling journey. Because for sure, they're not friends anymore. In fact, their far from it.
