She was the moon, lonely and magical, whereas all the men she'd ever loved were single sparks of the sun's rays, loved and loving beams of light that warmed the souls of everyone but hers. It was thought, by all but few speculators, that she couldn't give out any love of her own, for she showed it in ways that only a minority could appreciate. Elise's love bloomed and blossomed behind closed doors, when the world was asleep and they were free. It wasn't in her soul to fall all over her lovers for everybody to see and so remained a private person... aloof to everyone but the man she loved. She disappeared during the day and only truly arose when she was called into the darkness that she loved so dearly. He was the sun, warm and loving, but he was only ever content with a woman of differing charms- a lady who was quiet, mysterious and often deeply sad- a soul who he could pour the entirety of his love into. His love shone in everything he did so he lived his life as an entertainer, allowing people to speculate and envy his affections. He rose every morning to explore the world in pure sunshine and euphoria, filling his and other's hearts with light. It was in his spirit to be loved just as much as it was to be loving, so if his spectators had nothing to envy, he felt a burning pang in his heart hotter than anything else in existence. By cause of this, he was a conformist, doing everything in his power to sustain a love affair for all eternity.

book 1 of the windows of the soul duology ✿ ✿ ✿ lucent: softly bright or radiant ✿ ✿ ✿ My brother's hand traces the cut on my right cheek for some minutes. I have no idea how a cut can be so interesting, but I won't judge a book by its cover. He unexpectedly moves and places a heartwarming kiss on my crown, brushing through the strands of my hair. But what startles me the most, is when he speaks, "Duerme bien, mi niña bonita." And just as I wasn't able to sleep hours ago because of my stupid fear, I let myself fall into a dreamless sleep as his soothing voice travels through my ears. ✿ ✿ ✿ Layla Rivera. A young naive fourteen-year-old who's just lost her childhood best friend and guardian. She's anxious and timid when meeting other people, so she usually cowers and distracts herself, immerse between the pages of books. When she is thrown into the lion's den - or also named as her older brothers' house - she's left fearful and intimidated by the six foot three males who she never had a clue about. Trying to make sense of what her new life will bring while being unaware of the dangers her new home beholds, she tries to make her way into her new family, but it doesn't seem as easy as she expected, or is it? ©️juststarsandbooks All written works on this account belong to Juststarsandbooks.
