Aidan knows. Aidan remembers everything they tell her and everything they don't. She alone, out of the thirteen children like her, knows the truth of what happened to Earth 66 years ago. When devastation and utter disbelief shook the humans to their very cores, their faith was broken and hope was all they clung while the near-imminent threat of death hung over their heads.

Aidan also knew what was coming. She could hear him. His voice echoed in her mind from far below her feet. His words washed over her like a soft breeze but the dark tendrils of persuasion couldn't grasp onto her mind. She and five others managed to brush away the alluring temptation of what he was suggesting. Unfortunately he was able to recruit the other six.
