Arianna is Riack's only remaining princess, making her the true heir to the throne. As it is, she's not ready by a long shot to assume her rightful position in society, and worse, she might be more of a danger than a help to her people. 

She's the host of phenomenal magical power, previously thought to have disappeared from her world completely. The thing is, every time this power comes out of her, people die. 

In order to set things straight, Arianna sets our on a quest to control her magical abilities. However, she has to trust an assassin to take her away from the safety of her castle, and then learn survive in a suffering country about to crumble into dust. 

On top of everything, war is looming over a weakened Riack, and a battle is imminent.
