Emma Richardson was heading out for a calming walk one day when her step mother's son came to mock and tease her. But when she kicks him, she will learn that the previous punishments are nothing compared to what is to come.
This is a short story that my best friend (themazerunnxr) and I did in school for creative writing. Read and enjoy.

My Bad Luck
Everyone suffered through hard times in the COVID years. Olivia, on the other hand suffered through everything. She felt like the universe targeted her, and that she would never get a good ending. Her hope that things would get better was fading by the day. Did she do something wrong? She must have done something to deserve such punishments. Well, at least that is what she believes. After the loss of her beloved younger sister, she needed to step up. But what she wasn't prepared for was having to protect her little brother from her own parent. Feeling lost, and never feeling the comfort of a home, will Olivia be able to break her bad luck? "Because maybe all along I am the reason everyone else had to start suffering in 2019."
Some Kind Of Disaster
Alex is a fifteen year old boy who had the worst luck in life. He'd witnessed his parents deaths, he was bounced from foster home to foster home, but this was the last time. His torture was their entertainment. His pain was what they thrived on. Then it went way too far, and he ran. There was only one person he trusted, and it was the boy he met at school on his first day there. He barely knew this boy, but when he needed a friend, this sweet, raven haired boy told him the most important word that he hadn't heard in a long time. "You're safe." Safe was something Alex hadn't felt since he was a child, and even then, after the truth all came out, he realized he had never been safe in the first place. Jack was the boy's name, and Jack made Alex feel safe and loved. Disclaimer: Obviously I don't own Jack or Alex, and this story is simply a figment of my imagination. Hope
Kate was used to dealing with unfair consequences. Having a less than ideal home life and no one else to support her, she had learned to deal with things on her own. She had learned not to feel and especially not to hope. So when someone new comes into her life Kate does the best thing she can think of, she shuts them out. But, after a series of events in the course of one day, they are thrown back together, and Kate is given the chance to explain herself. Explain why she was so guarded and why she had closed herself off in the first place. And maybe along the way Kate learns that things aren't always so bad.
