Tyler was three when his parents died in the car crash. He moves in with his uncle Shawn and aunt Callie. Callie was pregnant, the baby was a girl. but then a miscarriage tares the family apart Carrie kills herself. Tyler's uncle is distraught tyler is four and he is getting abused by his uncle Shawn. Then Shawn gets a girlfriend named Lena she ends up pregnant with twins. Then his happily ever after is shattered Lena dies after giving birth, and leaves the children to Shawn and Tyler to deal with.
