Long ago in the Unknown, there lived a king and a queen. So the story goes, through tale and tale again, spread widely in the years passed by. History beckons through the leaves as autumn colors fall over the rooftops and mountains, over the blackened ravine, and softly it calls by a palace in a dream, over the garden wall.

The world has been spread in darkness. The streets are empty. The wall that separates the mortal and magical realms is crumbling. ~ In a world cleaved in half, Rhiannon Ashton hunts to protect her family. When her sister is taken beyond the Wall that seperates the Mortal and Magical realms, Rhiannon vows to rescue her sister. As she crosses the wall, Rhiannon realises that nothing is as it seems. The mysterious Queen who rules the Kingdom, rumours of the promised one, a war that will rattle the stars... ~ "Listen to me," He said fiercely. "You know nothing about this place. This place, this is nothing like your mortal world. This is an empire. This is an empire of death. One wrong word, and girl, you will end up in a ditch somewhere, missing your intestines. Right now - your only ally is me. So, you better listen," His voice was contrite with barely controlled anger. "Why are you helping me?" There was only tiredness in my voice. He laughed, humourlessly. "You don't remember me?" He asked softly. I shook my head. "Rezial. You can call me Rezial," He said. He stood, a cloak billowing around him. His eyes were bright spots in the dark. "What happened to... - Was this place always like this?" I said. Rez paused in his stride, turning to face me. "Not always," He said. There was something almost like grief in his voice. He waved his hand again, the plate vanishing. A moment later, the shadows in the room gathered into one spot, the inkiness rising until he was completely covered in darkness that was somehow darker than the rest. The shadows disappeared, and he was gone.
