Although Panem no longer is fighting for freedom, a new war has begun. The seventy-sixth Hunger Games will happen, and the Capitol's children shall participate. Berenice Maple was the daughter of a highly successful actor in the Capitol. The master of television drama, but none of this matters when she and her sister are selected as two of the twenty-four children unlucky enough to play in the final installment of the Hunger Games. Can there be hope in a not only a country so bleak, but the future that awaits her?

The 130th Hunger Games
Far into the future of humankind, there existed a country named Panem, which occupied what was once North America. It consisted of thirteen districts and one cruel, powerful Capitol that ruled them. But after the rebellion of Katniss Everdeen, Panem became a scattered country of chaos and, after several years of struggling and failing to found a new government, wore away into extinction. One hundred years later, Panem rose up out of the ashes and conquered all of Europe, establishing their own land there and naming themselves New Panem. To honor the ways of their original country, New Panem brought back the Hunger Games and started where they had left off—the 76th Hunger Games. About 50 years later, New Panem is thriving. In District 4, 12-year-old Sandi Coin (a descendant of President Coin) is living the good life—until her first reaping. When Sandi gets chosen to participate in the 130th Hunger Games, she knows her life is going to turn upside-down—and come to its end. And as she travels around the Capitol to participate in the events before the Games, Sandi finds herself in the midst of many odd characters—an over-enthusiastic mentor, a grumpy stylist, a murderous accompanying tribute, three kind friends, a cute boy, and a hostile group of killers—who are not who they seem to be. The Capitol Games
After the rebellion of Panem lead by Katniss Everdeen, President Paylor declares one Hunger Games. But a different way. Six boy and six girls will be selected from the Capitol and do the Hunger Games in the 74th Hunger Games arena. The only big difference: no one dies. Each child, from 12-18 years old, will play until injured, not killed. Aria Bix, a young, 14-year-old daughter of an ex-Gamemaker, is chosen. Previous victors hold her fate as the Gamemakers. 5 days of training is all she gets for her life-changing event. Follow Bixby in her Games experience, the Games no Capitol citizen is looking forward for. *I do not own any of the original Hunger Games characters, only the ones newly introduced in this book. Each year two young representatives from each district are selected by lottery to participate in The Hunger Games. Part entertainment, rutal retribution for a past rebellion, the televised games are broadcast throughout Panem. The 24 participants are forced to eliminate their competitors while the citizens of Panem are required to watch. When 16-year-old Katniss' young sister, Prim, is selected as District 12's female representative, Katniss volunteers to take her place. 16-year-old Aspen, Katniss' best friend, is selected as District 3's representative.
