Things weren't supposed to have ended the way they did. The war had lasted too long, countless of them had died fighting. They had fought until Madara was finally, truly dead.
But now, there was only two left.
With Konoha gone and everyone dead, neither of them accepted the cruel outcome. So, they went back.
