Because You're Ugly

They tell you that same rhyme about sticks and stones. They say you shouldn't care what other people think about you, but what if you do care? Their words stuck with me and I can feel it. Anytime I feel a stare, or a glance, or hear a whisper, it sends me back to this dark place. I'm still in that dark place and maybe there's still a spark left in me, but I doubt it's even enough.
