Evelyn Woods has lost everyone she has ever loved, except her little brother Benjamin. The fact that one day she will be the only one he has to depend on is the only thing that keeps her going – the only thing that keeps her alive. But to go from school to her part-time job and back to her foster parents’ home only to repeat it all again day after day was exhausting; all Evelyn wanted was a break, temporary or permanent. But she can’t leave the world just yet; she has Benjamin to live for, so she turns to the “bad boys” of her school in search of that temporary break.
