Kaylie "Kea" Alton's life turned upside down when she found fairies in the forest behind her father's house. At the tender age of seven, she was given the task to take care of the forest and the magical creatures therein - to become the Keeper of Albinan. Things went well for twelve years. With the appearance of a new creature from the lake, Kea and the rest of the creatures are wary. Something is happening, and when the creature starts talking gibberish about Atlantis and demonic inhabitation, she is forced to take him seriously. What she doesn't understand is why this creature of the lake is helping her and what he has to gain from it.

It is pretty violent (I mean, obviously, the demon wants to kill everything, so...), and there are instances of mild language and non-graphic "encounters," as it were. Philip's kindness remains prominent in her mind when Minerva offers her a choice to be a human. Hesitantly she agrees, unaware of how different the human world from hers. Philip's bodyguard begins to catch on that Muriel is different and Percy and the king quickly become desperate to find her. My own version of "The Little Mermaid" by Hans Christian Andersen.
