Graduating as valedictorian from Stanford isn't easy, at all. Landing an internship with Sports Illustrated magazine and snatching a huge assignment to accomplish isn't common, either. But Brianna Moretti did both, and now she has to somehow write a series of stories about the Colorado Rockies' journey through the season to win a permanent job. Seems simple, right? Not when their stud of a third baseman is your ex-best friend.
Getting a full baseball scholarship was simple enough: stay out of trouble throughout high school. But keeping cool under the spotlight of the Major Leagues isn't something that Nolan Arenado has grown accustomed to quite yet, despite have two years of experience. He wants to have a laid back, injury free season with no distractions. Easy to handle, right? Not when the hot new intern of Sports Illustrated magazine is doing a story on your team for the entire season. Oh, and by the way, she's also your ex-best friend.
Brianna and Nolan know that leaving the past behind them is the best thing, but they can't seem to let go of that one night when everything fell apart. And attempting to stay away from each other isn't the easiest thing to do, especially not when there's an undeniable attraction between them.
Brianna needs this job, so she can't let Nolan get in the way of accomplishing her dreams. Nolan needs to stay out of trouble, so he can't let Brianna impact how he acts just because she doesn't want to be apart of his life.
Yet, no matter how hard they try, neither of them have a logical reason to stay away from the tension that constantly brings them closer and closer to figuring out why they've been kept away from each other all along.
It's not about the drive for the game, or the fight for the game, or the need for the game. It's all about the love for the game.

Allison Monroe, a passionate college student of a Pre-Law course in University of the Philippines Diliman, come to believe that destiny no longer exists in our world. On the other hand, a happy-go-lucky guy which happened to be her classmate in college was amused by her beauty and brains. They started in not-a-very-good condition, because Allison hated Ryan the first time she have met him. It was love at first fight. As time passes by, the two has been playing with destiny, and started to fall for each other. But, it was not a good fairytale story to tell. Things has been complicated with the two of them, and the truth has started to unravel. There was familiarity in their warmth like they had met when they were younger. It's like they had loved each other at a different moment. At a different world. "Nothing changed. You were still the jerk I once knew, Jace," Allison uttered with full of sarcasticity. She couldn't believe it. She couldn't help but to laugh at herself for letting him fool her again. "I have no intention of fooling nor hurting you, I swear. Hear me out this time, Allison, please?" Ryan pleaded. "There's no point of hearing your stupid explanations, Ryan. You know I only seek for truth, and now that I know the truth, I can't let myself be fooled by you again." She turned her back at him. She never imagined that they could be played by Cupid twice. Love isn't all about happy endings. Sometimes, it could be tragic. But it may be tragically beautiful. And while Allison is slowly walking away from the place where Ryan is standing, she have thought of something she could do to save herself this time. She would do the first move to avoid pain. She would do the only thing she could do to not be hurt by the same guy again. She'd leave for good.
