We all were hiding in random places, apparently any place we could find. There were a ton of zombies, the whole place was full of them. Many people from our group were lost to the virus. Muffled voices, blurred vision and heavy breathes were heard. The ship which everyone had longed for soon arrived. The plan was to run to the ship and never look back. The ferry was anchored at the harbor and on the signal, everyone ran for their precious lives, not daring to look back. Some people couldn't make it in 'The End' . The ones who survived were the last of us. Will the people make it in time? What hardships will they encounter along the way? Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along. Lara and her friend, the only person she can call family, Annabelle among them. During the chaos the two are separated, believing the other to be dead. Years pass. Both finding their own ways to survive in their new reality. Lara finds her place with another group of survivors, Annabelle makes her place in the woods with nothing but willpower and a friendly wolf. When rippers and their pet walkers come to the city looking for Annabelle, Lara finds out that her family is not dead. And that she is in grave danger. The cannibalistic rippers are not acting alone either. They under the order of a mysterious figure known only as 'The Master' and even the rippers, who keep the undead as pets, are afraid of him. Annabelle escaped from the master before, and not unscathed. The scars of her neck are the proof of that. She is no longer able to speak. With the rippers coming to town she knows it is time to move on. That camp just on the other side of the city is attacked by them. Annabelle's last act before hitting the road is to take out some of the rippers with her rifle. Memories from her past are coming back to haunt her. The Master is coming for her and she is determined not to let him catch her. She will not be one of his experiments ever again.

The Wildfire Virus. That's the illness the eggheads have called dubbed that has spread alarmingly fast all over the world. No could figure out at first how and where it came from or how even spread so quickly. I was on leave, visiting brother in Boston when the infection hit. Yesterday, the world was normal with its own conflicts. The next, millions get sick, hospitals are overwhelmed, and any sort of space was converted into a makeshift hospital to handle all the sick. On day 2 the sick died and awoke attacking the living. I tried to get out of the city, but the military closed off every major access point and now I'm trapped within, along with millions of undead.
