Here For Each Other
Ashley, a 12 year old girl, was found at the doorstep of a group home with nothing but a simple blue book. Having endured so much drama in her past, Ashley barely spoke, and isolated herself away in her room, refusing to share anything, even putting up a fight whenever they tried moving her to a new home. But with a surprising turn of luck, Jane, a new foster parent, was able to strike a chord with Ashley, and brought her into her home. And soon after, a young girl is able to slip past Ashley's walls with some persistence. But several questions still remain. What happened in Ashley's past? What is that mysterious blue book that Ashley's refuses to let go of? I've gotten used to the dead parents face. I've gotten used to living with my gymnastics coach. I've even adjusted to sharing a bathroom with his way-too-hot son. Dealing with boys is not something that's made it onto my list of experiences as of yet. But here I am, doing it. And something about Jordan--being around him, talking to him, thinking about him--makes me feel like I can finally breathe again. That's something I haven't been able to do lately. He knows what it feels like to be me right now. He knows what it's like to wonder--what now? I think about it constantly. I need answers. I need to know how to get through this. In the gym, if you're struggling, you train harder, you do drills and conditioning. How do I work hard at moving on? At being on my own? And what happens if I might be...maybe...probably falling for Jordan? I mean we live together now. That can't happen, can it? Being alone? Check. Being afraid? Check. Being abused? Check times 3. Honestly, my life wasn't this bad before, not until I ended in foster care... SIKE! My life was always bad. From the moment I was born, I lived with an abusive father who blamed me for my mother's death, and even I couldn't disagree with him.
