Sterling City. A playground for the cruel and corrupt. Once a shining beacon of prosperity, it has now become a broken down shell of its former self. For five years, the criminal mastermind known only as The Dark has ruled his kingdom with an iron fist. Many feel that Sterling City is a lost cause, that all hope is gone.
Wade Riley comes home to Sterling City after five years away fighting in the War. The city he returns to is a twisted perversion of the city he left. Joining the Sterling City Police Department doesn't help, as he and his friend Jason Drake seem to be the only honest cops on the force. Riley wants to believe there is still a chance for Sterling City, but he decides to give it up anyway.
Yet, Riley still feels a powerful sensation within him, and he has been given new life, a new purpose: to take back Sterling City from the captors holding it hostage. Using the alter-ego The Nightwatcher, Riley will plunge deep into the heart of the city to fight for its soul.
Or die trying.

In the not-so-distant future evolved humans emerged. Those who had powers that broke conventional laws of physics, chemistry, and biology were dubbed E.H.s (evolved humans); it was wondrous for a time. Of course if there was power to be used there would be those who misuse. As String's ambitions grow beyond just controlling the city's underbelly Adlet and Jenna are forced to take action with an ally he did not desire. While prejudice against E.H.s reaches it's peak because of a horrific tragedy, the Soldiers of the New World waste no time to expand their reach and rally for their cause of taking over the city. Adlet goes to the edge of sacrificing everything and back again. On the way, betrayal awaits at every corner. Anyway, this is about two people. I can almost hear you rolling your eyes. Another cliché teen fiction with a bad boy and a good girl? Nope. This is about superheroes. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride.
