Emily Friars knows she's not supposed to enter the mysterious woods on the other side of the railroad tracks. Then again, she never listens. In the woods she meets Arot, a young gruffalo cub. They soon become fast friends. Problem is, humans and gruffaloes aren't supposed to get along. Emily and Arot must find a way to make peace... and fast.
