When a bunch of children at an elementary school in a small Southern town begin getting sick, the illness starts spreading like wildfire, killing its victims within a few days' time. The government thinks its a mutated form of Influenza at first, until the bodies of those who die from its symptoms begin reanimating. 

Dennis Curry is a scientist who has already lost one of his children to the virus. Now, he must struggle to keep his family safe in a world of dangerous, flesh-eating zombies, while attempting to find a cure for those who are still uninfected before it's too late.
