Once the Lost and Twice as Troubled

"'Tell me, do you know where you are?' The lights flicked on.
White-hot brightness seared across the room, burning the boy’s eyes and causing a moment of blindness far worse than the dark. Jonathon slammed his eyes shut against the racing bright, yet the illumination shined through his eyelids, making them glow a deep, bright red. The heat danced across his skin, raising his arms into goose bumps. The cold, so quick to fade into a memory, almost seemed inviting.
'Where are you, do you know?' Slowly, carefully, he peeled open his eyes, looking around the white-filled room. Bright white paint covered the thick bricked walls, and flakes of white sprinkled the light gray floor of cold concrete. The ceiling was row after row of blinding light that seemed to make the room burn with extreme intensity. The room, though small, glowed to another infinity."

This is my first story on Wattpad
This will be a series of short stories following the lives of different people as they go about their lives as creatures called "Changelings" with different abilities.
Every story will be different, but each one will have to fend for themselves as they struggle to escape captivity
